To research place management tools, and to validate a place management framework for a Business Improvement District (BID)
The means has been working with KPMG and with Professor Cathy Parker of the Institute of Place Management to deliver a plan for Place Management on Orchard Road, Singapore - one of the world's premier shopping and leisure streets. The project began with a scan of the various effective place management models around the world, including a comprehensive, detailed and up-to-date understanding of the BID systems in the United States and United Kingdom. Next, was work to validate a place management framework developed by the Board in line with best practices and appropriate to the context. There will be extensive engagement with businesses, mall managers, owners and public sector stakeholders on Orchard Road. A comprehensive Business Plan will be delivered to the client, with a key focus on long-term sustainability.
