Client:

Lambeth Council

Assignment:

To provide some expert economic development advice and provide interim support and build up BID capacity within the Council.

Timescale:
October - December 2015
Project Description:

The Regeneration service within Lambeth Council required some interim support whilst it recruited permanent staff and so Mike Fairmaner was seconded to the service for 2 days a week as a temporary member of their staff. Mike’s main task was to ensure that the Council followed the cross borough BID Regulations in advising WeAreWaterloo in submitting their BID Renewal proposal as it straddles both Lambeth and Southwark and that it complied with Lambeth’s policies to advise the Cabinet Member should formally endorse the BID Proposal.

Mike also built up BID capacity within the organisation so that it was better equipped to deal with future BID Proposals and identified key people within the organisation who should be involved at an early stage.

Mike also advised on setting up a database of businesses within the borough and to engage and report more on the activities of its business support providers.
