Restore local pride and deliver long term solutions that will support businesses across the borough
The Means recently conducted a pilot campaign to boost Camberwell's local commerce in conjunction with an area walking promotional campaign.
‘Step Inside Camberwell' was commissioned by the Camberwell Travel Plan Group which brings together Southwark and Lambeth Councils, the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Kings College NHS Foundation Trust and local community groups.
The campaign signed up some 20 participating local businesses, who offered a 10% discount to those who picked up a branded reward card and walked to their premises. Card holders who collected loyalty stamps from 10 businesses were entered into a prize draw.
The pilot campaign ran from 1 June to 23 July 2010.
Commented Sophie Tyler: "This has been a great example of our collaboration with Means' Associates Mickey Lee and Miranda Newsom. Together they have produced a really eye-catching design, which highlights Camberwell's assets. Step Inside Camberwell could easily be replicated in other town centres. The signs are that this will be the beginning of a longer running initiative."
