Stratford Original is the Business Improvement District for Stratford town centre. Its aim is to make Stratford a place where businesses come, stay and prosper.
Stratford is one of the fastest changing places in the Capital and Stratford Original is the vehicle through which businesses can make the most out of the regeneration happening in and around the town centre.
The means’ involvement in Stratford dates back to 2013. After successfully delivering a feasibility study and ballot, the BID went live in April 2015. Stratford Original is delivering improvements in three keys area that include: ‘Doing Business’, ‘Promoting Stratford’ and ‘Making the town centre feel safer and more welcoming’.
After setting up the BID, The means were then commissioned to run the first ‘100 days’ of the BID and subsequently appointed on permanent basis. The main areas of intervention so far include the delivery of the waste management & recycling and joint procurement scheme, the commissioning of a Green Infrastructure audit, scoping out Creative Wayfinding solutions and last but not least the introduction of Street Wardens.
The BID is managed by Gianluca Rizzo who runs the day to day operations of the company with strategic support delivered by Sophie Tyler.
