Project Description: 
Businesses in the Streatham area of London have a new flagship organisation to protect and enhance their interests. The inStreatham Business Improvement District (BID) was approved at ballot on Friday 22nd February 2013.
 
The organisation will invest upwards of £1.25m in Streatham between 2013 and 2018. Its four themes are Smart in Streatham, improving the look and feel of the town centre; Shop in Streatham, Marketing to attract more shoppers and a diverse and quality range of shops to the area; Step out in Streatham, helping to promote and support Streatham’s growing night –time economy; and Stress free in Streatham, creating a calmer, happier environment for customers and traders.  
 
The means was commissioned by Lambeth Council to run the BID campaign for Streatham in 2012 after completing a feasibility study earlier in the year.
 
Following extensive engagement with the local business community and stakeholders, the inStreaham BID was overwhelmingly approved by 80 per cent of voters and achieved an 85 per cent vote in favour by rateable value.
 
The means is now delivering management services to the BID in Streatham, which is already playing a key role in the regeneration of the area
