With the benefit of significant research and exploratory work the Low Line is entering a phase where of being much more visible. The Mixed Occupier Test Beds which aim to stretch the range of economic and social activities that the arches can host has progressed to the point that leases on three arches have been agreed, planning permissions have been obtained and contractors appointed on a design and build type contract.
An offer has been made on a fourth arch in Bermondsey. The designs by TDO architects are stunning.
The ecological strategy is gathering pace.
PDP Architects have outlined their Stage 2 draft findings in advance of the pilot projects being selected for implementation. The study on movement and accessibility along the Line being undertaken by Urban Movement dovetails closely with the PDP work.
